Default Disable Passanger Air Bag Switch..

Hello to all,
I have recently purchased a 2003 350Z (track) and was flipping through the owners manual when I noticed in the airbags section that if children are going to ride in the vehicle, you are eligable for Nissan to install a Passanger Air Bag ON/OFF switch. My dilema is, when I called my local Nissan dealership (Groton, CT) and spoke to Parts/Service they had no idea what I was talking about. I decided to google the topic and have found nothing; only disabling the air bag light for 06' and further models. I am wondering if anyone else has some further information on this topic that they would like to share. It's not like the end of the world if this is not installed in my car because I still have the Nissan Altima as the family car, but it would be nice to take my daughter with me for a weekend drive sometime in the next eight years. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

~ Craig

Here you go Craig . It is part number NTB02-123 . It is available to be ordered at any Nissan dealership for $10 mailed to the dealership . It is the same number as the reference number on the service release from Nissan USA on passenger air bag switches . Tell your dealer to look it up on his computer . It must be ordered for you thru your service dept thru Nissan USA .Hope this is of some help to you .

Does this mean the dealer has to install it no-charge?
Or is it simple enough we could do it ourselves?

I was told that most likely it would come with instructions . Difficulty level I'm not sure . No ! They don't install it for free .But it has to go to the dealer first then you pick it up or have it mailed to you .

And don't forget about the required form from the NHTSA:

http://www.safercar.gov/staticfiles/...ch_Request.pdf

I don't think the dealer will order the part without that first. Also, is NTB02-123 the part number as well as the name if the Nissan Technical Service Bulletin?

Yes , it is the same( it's also the reference number on the Tech bulletin ). I was able to order it without any form but I do know the service manager well .
