Interior Blacked Out - Finished & Pics (sort of a repost)
Been working this project in sections over the last couple of weekends.
I grew tired of the silver trim located through out the interior and decided to black it all out. Had previous posts as I did each section. Here's everything together
Some say it's bland - I see their point - but the silver trim just seamed distracting and breaking things up too much for me.
Center console with new Nismo Shift ****

Steering wheel and gauge cluster

Rear Brace Cover (after market Z emblem)

P-Side Door grip (and vent) - sorry about the crappy pic

Steering wheel, gauge cluster and console together

Next Project - Blue LED conversion

IDK. Seems like too much trouble but then again, I might get bored and go after it.
no offense to the OP its just my personal humble opinion. I have a 03 Z as well and i feel that the interior quality is craptastic. I also think that many DIY paint jobs look well..."home made" so by painting it black makes the interior look cheaper than what it already is...
yeah, and the windshield too!! LOL...
It's all good. some like it, some don't. It's been a few weeks now and I still like it. My thought is that if nothing else, people who don't like it know for sure they don't want to do it. Sometimes it takes seeing something to know for sure you don't want.
I learned about pulling the gauge cluster and the steering wheel and the rear brace cover.
I've ordered my nuetral gauge faces and blue LED kit. will do the guage faces next weekend.

Maybe - I can use a soldering iron.... but, I work for a manufacturing company and the lead soldering trainer / inspector told me she would do all the soldering if I needed someone else to do it. So, depending on the type of boards used inside the guage cluster, I might do it on my own, which I would prefer but if it looks too intricate I will ask her to do it.
Meanwhile, the gauge faces should be pretty easy, just have to be careful.
Let me know when you have the stuff. I found an interesting thread on soundproofing, I will PM you with it.
