..Yea, I do want the 07+....

No worries at all. I had to search for a while and a bunch of different sources before I found in my color. Check out the usuals like our marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, but also try car-parts.com. There was on in MO last time I was on there. It is blue, but like you said, you have to paint it no matter what.

Good luck finding one.

How do you compare changing hoods to someone that puts a twin turbo emblem on their car who doesn't have a turbo? How is it "rice" It's just a hood. Not like people will see it and when he pops the hood they will scream, "THATS NOT AN HR" Hell most Z owners don't even know what an HR is let alone the rest of the general public.

To the OP, if you like it, go for it. Find someone that has one and see if he/she will let you test fit it. People on here are always selling hoods after buying aftermarket ones.

If you like it, you like it, but I can see what all these other guys are talking about. A lot of people out there, myself included, identify year models by the subtle changes made in the body design over the years.
If I saw an 07 hood on a car without LED tails or the yellow reflector on the side of the headlights, I'd probably wonder: A) why does this guy want everyone to think he has an HR. and B) if not, what kind of NA/SC setup is under that hood? And if I can't hear a difference, I smell poser.

No, the difference in hp isn't much, but I believe the HR has much greater potential over all than the DE. Coming from someone who owns a REAL 07, the misrepresentation is what we see. But again, I say, there's nothing wrong with doing it. If you like the OEM style better than an aftermarket hood that offers more clearance, by all means, do it.

Has anyone tried to fit a Stillen SC under the HR hood?

The rice argument is idiotic. I have an HR hood on my 03. My car recieved some hail love last summer and I got a new hood from the insurance company. I hate the "ribbed for her pleasure" stock DE hoods. I love the HR hood. Its was free, looks smooth and OEM, unlike many flashy Carbon Fiber hoods. It's also lighter then the CF hoods.

I doubt the stillen would fit, the Still Hood has a huge and obnoious bulge.

Stupid argument in my opinion.

For those who think it is rice...is it rice to have a nismo version (v2 bumper) on your car? I mean, it is from the nismo edition...so that's rice right?

Yeah, isn't that weird? Am I the only one that trips out about that?

i want to put the HR hood on my 350z based on the fact that the intake spacer will rub the 2003 hood if it is really large... At least that is what i was told.

Ugly hood - don't do it.

Only reason they have a hump is because it was cheaper for Nissan to screw up the aesthetics as apposed to find a way to lower the engine more. IMHO

The HR just looks better because it keeps the look of the original Zs just like the triple gauges do and it offers more room under the hood for a spacer/intake.

The comparison of putting an HR hood on a DE to smacking a twin turbo sticker on a stock car is about as stupid of a comparison as you can make.

When I had my 300ZX TT I would get annoyed with people that would put the TT front bumper and rear spoiler on a NA Z. That is because I had 300 HP and they only had 222.
How can it be viewed as the OP wants to look like he has a faster car when the car you are talking about us NOMINALLY faster???
There is a dramatic difference! The HR actually makes more power stock than is advertised because the hp/tq rating standards changed in 07 when the HR came out. Regardless, the HR is a completely different animal. I have a bone stock HR and my buddy has an 05 DE with full exhaust and test pipes, CAI, plenum spacer and COBB and I stay neck and neck with him till about 90mph and pull slightly after that. Spending $3000+ on a DE and getting beat by a stock HR = priceless.

In response to the OP, the 07/08 hood will bolt up no problem. IMO, its not ricer at all, as long as you don't claim to have an HR. As long as its functional (to allow you to fit spacer and plenum), its fine. I may be biased but I think the 07/08 hood looks soooo much more aggressive. But, in the end, its up to you, just my

Deffinately not the only reason. It was more of an aesthetic upgrade than not wanting to move the motor. They said they wanted to mimic the look of the original Z hood...well done IMO.
