Default Åsshole Vandals

Sometime in the last 2 days since I washed and waxed my Z, some
àsshole vandal keyed my hood. I tried buffing it although I knew better
since it is deep enough to catch my nail and I can see a white layer below
the paint.

To correct this properly, will the fenders and/or front bumper need painting?
To paint the fenders, wouldn't you need to go into the doors? Where does the "blending" end?

So much for a pristine Z with original paint on the sheet metal.

That sucks I know exactly how you feel. The very same thing happened to me. I had just clay bared the whole car and polished it. Then some Mother Fcker keyed sorry on my hood. They had keyed a whole bunch of cars on my street. If I could have caught them in action; it would have been worth them doing it. I would have broken all their fingers.

You can just repaint the hood.

You can also find a local professional detailers who can do touch ups as well depending on how bad it is.

I am hoping just the hood can be painted, that way, I can still have original
sheet metal paint!

It is way to deep for touchup. Way to deep.

I've heard from various body shops that they normally prefer to blend adjacent panels. So, that would mean bumper and both fenders.

Its really hard to get the paint "exaclty" the same so unless you blend it you will be able to see the difference in the color under certain light. My 350 had an issue before I got it (which I didnt know about until after it was mine) but in certain sunlight you can see the door is not exactly the same color as the fender... Now, I got the Nismo wing for the hatch, and I had it painted and then installed it myself. That you can't tell the difference at all. The body guy thats working on it now (installing my aerosync bumper) said it has to do with angles. He said that something like a wing its hard to see the difference but when panels meet like doors and fenders its much easier to see.. not sure about how it works out on a hood/fender angle etc etc but thats whats up...gotta go eat

I'm taking it to a local body shop guy, he did the front bumper when I cut the holes for my fogs. I am going to shave the front emblem while I am at it. I may as well retire the Acura and use the Z as a daily driver.
