Guys,

Just tried fitting my chrome aluminium Nismo **** and hit a problem. Can you help?

I have put it on but the collet (little fat washer thing) is rattling.

**** seems tight but maybe I haven't put it on far enough?

Thanks
Stuart

I didn't use the little metal washer. No rattles and tight fitting. Try your **** without it.

Default Titanium **** Gone Bad

Alright folks, I recently bought the Titanium **** about a month ago. I had the car in for maintenance and bought the **** from the dealer and they installed it. Here is the problem. The thing stripped out. They used the fat washer and the black bottom. I noticed the thing was a little loose when I left as it turned left and right a bit. I tightened it down a little more and it seemed fine. Over time, however it kept getting loose and that is when I noticed that it was actually stripped out. I can turn it and turn it and it never gets tight.

Anyway that is not big deal except that I took it off and noticed the inside is not Titanium it is a plastic insert screwed to the Titanium and threaded to go on to the shifter.

Man for the money I paid for this thing I expect much better quality than that cheap *** plastic insert. I am not happy at all. I am taking it back.

Some ***** are on VERY tight (liberal use of Loctite or something). That is the only difficult part... which is alleviated with some good tools... not a difficult install, just a pain in the butt if it's on there tight

A lot of the 2003 Z owners had their shift ***** installed with either a massive amount of Loctite or it was simply torqued on way too much (or both). I'm guessing that the 2004's might be easier to remove... (maybe even by hand)
