Default Finally, after 4 days of hell with the shifter, got my Nismo **** on!! (Pics!)

As most of you know I've had a hard time with the damn shift ****. Well I finally got the damn thing off after 4 days of hell. I cheated though, called a local nissan dealership, asked them to do it, finally found one who'd do it for free.

Took about 30-40mins for them to do it, turns out they had to completely take apart the shifter, and remove the boot and so forth.. but definatly worth it!

I know this sounds silly, but here is a review on it..

Shifting now feels completely different. I know this sounds weird, but shifting now feels much smoother, and quicker. Much easier to grab (If you hold shifter vertically oppose to holding it by the top horizontally).

This nismo shifter should have been on the car stock! Feels amazing. No regrets buying it here.

Also, buyer beware, if you plan to buy the carbon fiber one, the carbon fiber strip spins around the ****. Some might not like that, as it can make you slip if shifting hard, and do not have a full grip!

Here's some eye candy....

Please turn head to right

A little closer up so you can see the CF weave. I honestly don't know if it's real, but by the looks of it, if it's fake, its a HELL OF A GOOD FAKE!

Yea what WashuJon said. Does that little black plastic piece at the base of the **** come with. I want that Nismo Titanium GT ****. The only thing that is keeping me from buying it is the way it looks at the base. But if it came with that little black plastic piece it would look so much better.

I'm glad you enjoy the shifter!

However it didn't really like it, felt cheap as the carbon fiber spun around the ****. It didn't go too well with summer heat either. I put the stock one back on and it felt way better IMO. That's awesome you enjoy it just don't let it sit in the sun too long

What are you talking about!?

Do you know how long I tried to burn "Nismo" into my palm.

Yes it did come with a rubber boot which is on the bottom of the picture... BUT I've seen a titanium one which DID NOT have the rubber bottom. This caused the leather boot not to reach the bottom of the shift ****, and exposed some of the metal.

The rubber piece is seperate from the shifter, so it's possible the owner just didn't want it, although I don't know why he wouldn't.

Be sure to double check when you buy the shifter, or else the leather boot might not come all the way to the shifter, since the shifter is smaller than the stock ****.

PS.. It feels great. And about the heat, just buy a windshield sun reflector! Not a big deal.. Takes 5 seconds to put it on, and it will keep your shifter cool.

That looks great! What color is the non-CF part? I can't tell for sure from the pics if it's chrome, black, or some other color.

Thanks, and congrats on getting it installed.

Uh, the CF on mine does not spin at all. Did they snap it when they put it on? Mine is solid.

I guess I got a crappy ****, the carbon fiber spun around the **** and felt cheap and less comfortable over all, for me at least. I'm glad you guys that have it are enjoying it. Though what difficulties did you have with the stock shifter? I hopped in and just spun it off by hand.

one quick fix is to take dental floss and wedge it between the top of where the CF and the top meet!!

Weird. It sounds like a QC issue. I am actually having it installed Friday and I had the parts mngr check the box and he took it out and said it does not spin at all. I asked because of someone else selling theirs because it spins. I was like WTF? So I had them check and it seems to be cool.
