Default "Tow hook"

I still think "tow hook" is appropriate as it does, in fact, tow the car. Albeit for a short distance, that's all. The opening in the grill is to attach the tow hook {that is stored in the trunk} to the receptacle and then use that to pull/winch the Z up on to a flatbed wrecker if/when needed. Being that the front end (suspension) is all aluminum, Nissan does not want a wrecker pilot pulling on it w/his winch. Regards, Jim

Hey, Jim, what clear bra did you put on? I guess I'm gonna have to put one on. I'm starting to get a few pinhead size nicks on the front end. It sure isn't going to get any better.

On towing, check out page 6-10 &11 of the manual. It states the tow hook is used for "vehicle Recovery(Freeing a stuck vehicle)"

The manual shows the three positions the car should be towed in & none involve the hook. The only thing unclear is what should be used to put the Z on a flatbed truck (one of the 3 methods).

Hope I haven't "mucked" up your thread, Jim. Its just there is confusion on how to tow the car.

Key issue folks: Read the Manual.

Default Read the Manual

Yup, right you are as to reading the manual! Naw, you haven't mucked up the thread at all. In fact, you have injected some good common sense into it re: the manual. How many times have we seen questions posted that are clearly answered in the manual? Passenger seat belt rattle and more, etc.?
Regards, Jim

On the towing & manual, Jim, I was posting my comments much more for the general readership here than you.

Default Grill

AL, Couldn't agree with you more! It really does seem to compliment the aggresive front end of the Z. Regards, Jim
