Hey there fellow Z owners. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this issue... I recently put the Kinetix V4 Intake Plenum, the Motordyne MREV 2 Manifold, and the 5/16 spacer on my 2005 Z. As a result, I had to place spacers under the strut bar in order for it to clear the engine. The instructions warned of this issue so no big deal BUT ... the hood will not close over the raised strut bar. I placed a butt load of shims on the hood mount to lift the hood for a temporary solution. I did some measuring on an 08 hood (since the 07-08 hood feature that bulge to compensate for the dual intake) and it seems to have enough of a gap to clear my engine sooooo ... I ordered an 08 hood. Does anybody have any comments or concerns regarding my decision? Has anybody run into this problem? Thanks for any input! ....

 

take off ur strut bar...easy fix

 

Buy a new strut bar.

 

Yea the APS strut bar goes around the front of the plenum, should clear fine

 

Your using a V4 Kinetix Plenum and a spacer??? thats why.... I really don't think you need to be using both.

 

I missed that...what made you do both?

i have a 1/2" spacer and my cusco strut bar rubs. i was wondering if the 07 hood offers enough clearance so it wont rub anymore?
