Default Installed MOMO AT **** and Leather Shift Boot

First and foremost: please don't post anything if all you're going to do is say something negative. I'm not trying to pass this car off as a stick and never have. It's a 5AT, which I've written plain as day in my sig, and I love it for that. I also always tell people off the bat that it's an automatic even if they don't ask about the transmission. That said...

I finally did this today and am VERY happy with the result. I tucked my leather underneath the ring because I didn't want to break the tabs off in order to get the ring back on over the leather - I'd say the end result looks really nice, and even better in person. I also really wanted this done underneath the ring because the ring would squeak and creak sometimes, so hopefully this should put an end to that by dampening the sound. I also really like how many luxury cars have leather shift boots, and I really don't like seeing the shift gate all exposed with the tall OEM ****.

For those who do this mod with the MOMO: DO NOT push the **** all the way down. Otherwise the **** will sit too low and put pressure on the shifter release button/mechanism so you won't be able to remove the keys from the car. If this happens to you, simply pull the **** upwards a little until you hear a click (that's the button releasing the mechanism) and then you'll be able to pull the keys out. Leave it at that height now.

Also, I got the leather from Redline Goods and bought the standard size.

The MOMO shift **** I actually got from Matt (ZU L8R), one of the moderators here on the forum. It was pure luck - I never expected someone to be selling the **** here. But you can get yours from:

http://www.nyxracing.com/momo-automa...l-p-44077.html

Or you can Google "MOMO Automatic Shift ****" for other stores selling it. And don't worry, I don't care if you use the same ****. You really don't have much of a choice - it's all we have available.

Matt: Thanks, dude. I love it!

As far as the stocker, I think I'm going to keep it just in case. I keep all of my OEM stuff (exhaust, cats, sidemarkers, springs, etc.) =)

Looks good.

Are you gonna finish it off with the emergency brake handle as well?

All of the bolt-ons have helped reduce over 50lbs. And my Michelins weigh an average of 5lbs less over the OEM Bridgestones. So not only am I saving in 20lbs of weight, but also 20lbs of unsprung weight (10 of which is at the driven wheels).

My original weight was 3250lbs with fluids topped off, full tank, spare + tools.
