I have a couple of questions on hatches and roof overlays. First, are the mastergrade and asuka hatches the same design? They look exactly the same, except for the asuka type 2 hatch, which has a more pronounced duck bill.

Second, I want a carbon fiber roof, but I don't want to apply only 3m tape. I saw a cf roof overlay that was held down by screws after removing the a pillars, which roof is that? Is the asuka double hump held on by screws? Cuz if it is thats the roof I want :]

 

I didn't know they made two hatches, any pics of the type II asuka bro? I have the type I I believe then...

 

i have the type 2 asuka carbon hatch...check my album or a recent post i made called Finished!! Carbon Fiber two tone on silverstone...i think its on the second page of exterior & interior

Asuka and Mastergrade used to be made by the same people until they split. Mastergrade is a knockoff of the Asuka. I think, from what I've been told.

 

^ close, but not quite true. Mastergrade has been around since 2001 where as Asuka has been around since 2006 SEMA. Mastergrade is a manufacture, whereas Asuka is a design company hence the name Asuka Design.

^Asuka manufacturers & designs there own stuff. The mold for the type 1 hatch was originally Asuka's but now belongs to Mastergrade.
