Default New project I have been working on, Aluminum belly pans

Been working on this for a long time, Finally have what I beleive will be the final production piece.

This replaces the entire plastic under pan on the 350
This has a oil filter and drain plug door in which you can actually get to the oil filter thru without removing the entire shield and 12,000 bolts.

These will be made from 5052 lightweight aluminum and vented to help with under car turbulence and help vent the hot air off the radiator out under the car.
Let me know what you think

These are just prototype pieces so please over look the scratches

This looks like a really nice piece. I only have one suggestion however. As I hate things that rattle on my car, I would like to see some sort of trim, rubber stand-offs, something that would keep the pan from making noise when attached to the car. Same goes for the oil door. Gromets maybe?

Does this pan clear lower tie bars and such?

Any projected cost for this? I change my own oil so removing two fastners instead of 15-20 is much preferred.

Nice job on this. Keep us up on your progress.

The rubber comment was pretty valid...how about a silicone or rubber type trim around the areas that contact anything else?

Sorry I'm not too familiar with the strength of 5052 lightweight aluminum, is it greater than the original plastic? I've long since wanted to build something that will take a beating to protect the goods, even if it was like 50 lbs of steel, because those arc and others were always expensive as calin said, how much would you charge?

Will it fit a G35? I think it should like everyone else in for a price.
