Hello everyone, I am the proud owner of a 2008 Nogaro Red Z. For the life of me I swear that my hood is fading, and I dont know why because I wash and wax it monthly.
Has anyone else noticed that there paint seems to be fading? Also, I have a ton of swirl marks caused by the dealership washing my car before I bought it. And I can't get them out no matter what I use, and I can't sand and buff the car because of the tinted clear on it, so what should I do?

What are you washing and waxing it with?
I haven't heard of a modern paint fading in many years - it's just that good.
A swirl mark remover ought to get rid of the swirls without damaging the clearcoat.

What are you trying to remove the swirls with? Unless you know what you're doing with a PC/Rotary you definitely will not be removing it by hand/crappy buffer machine.
Have a professional detailer take a look at it..
Also are you sure you are washing correctly and not stripping the wax off everytime you wash?
Parked outside in the sun all day? Red is killer when it comes to paint fading but for it being so new it shouldn't be fading already..

Well I wash it with a Meguiars cars was soap, and wax it with Meguiars Ultimate quick wax. The problem is only on the hood, and it looks like it is "bleached". I don't know it might just be me being very picky?

It doesn't really show up in pictures, and also when I take a pic the whole car looks pink? It's only noticable when it's parked under a light, or you look really closely at it.

Having it professionally polished out I am betting you the paint would pop out just how you would like it.. Unless you have the time, tools and skills. Have a professional detailer with a pc/rotary polish the vehicle.
And I wouldn't really call the Meguiars Quick Spray Wax really a wax..get something better maybe some p21s s100 collonite or something along the lines with better durability and protection.

Alright I will take the different wax under addvisment, and I am no novice when it comes to an orbital buffer, but I don't have the equipment handy to do any buffing/polishing.
"quick" products are just that. They will never have the deep shine and real protection of real wax or polish.
My guess is that the swirls and hazing from improper washing and detailing is leaving the cloudy/washed-out/bleached appearance. A light polishing will restore the shine and a good wax like Zaino will provide the protection you need. Check out the detailing forums:

there you'll find info on how to carre for your car and which products work best.

It's not in your head. Nogaro Red Z's (I own one) have VERY slight variations in the color hues on the hood and roof. It's prominent when you compare them against the A-pillars and C-pillars. I don't know if it's because of the way the paint reacts with the different metals that are used on the car (steel vs. aluminum) or if it's because some panels are painted off the car in different paint shops and that causes variations in the color.
Bottom line is: your paint isn't fading - it's the way the car came from the factory.
Regarding the swirls, take it to a professional detailer. For about $200, they'll make it look like a big red mirror. Expect that to last a few washes before the scratches re-appear. Best thing to do is use a claybar, some scratch-X and a good wax and just enjoy the paint from more than 2 feet away
