I was wondering if anyone knew any web sites that would teach you how to make your own carbon fiber hoods or anything you wanna build yourself? I already tryed google search and i couldn't find anything... thanks fellas n ladies...

 

I could tell you how, but the cost for one of them would be more than itd cost to get a premade one, also your quality would not be any good as theres no way you have the proper equipment.

you need a mold, which means you need a master. so you make a mold of the stock hood, but youd need like 55gallons of mold material to submerge the hood for the mold, and at 50-150$ a gallon... well yeah.

Im not too sure how to even do CF then, tho I have an idea, but none the less they only sell CF by the roll(also very expensive) and far more than youd need.

lastly true cf should be pressure cast and all that stuff that I dont have a damn clue about.

its not something you do in your garage tho.

smaller stuff isnt as hard, but youd waste alot working out the kinks. and you could only do polyurethane or epoxy parts mainly, not carbon fiber...

 

i have the stuff to do carbon fiber at work but on a much smaller level its mainly for like car stereo installs its expensive and works like fiberglass. You lay the cloth the add the gel and hardener and sand and sand and sand then reapply its like $90.00 a square foot. Try selectproducts.com
