Default problem w/'06 headlight swap

I have a 2006 Z. I put in 2003 headlights that came with the HID's. when I plugged them in, my turn signals did not work, but the DRL's blinked as though they were my blinker. what do I have to do to get the amber blinker bulb to function properly? I've searched and all the info I found was for the 2003-2005 car owners.

alright so the 2003 headlights i have plugged into my 2006 Z...there is a black wire running to the back of the blinker bulb and also a green wire with a black stripe. i do not see how you would seperate them because they are already seperated and run into the back of the blinker and cannot be pulled out. i still cannot figure out how to get the blinkers to work. when i hooked these up for the first time last night when i went to turn on the blinker, the running light would blink, but when i turned off the blinker it would just stay on...and all this would only happen if the headlights were turned on. im stumped.

Dude! ON THE BULB ITSELF, where the BULB(glass) tapers and would plug in there is metal wire strips on there, take one side and fold it back so it doesnt make contact w/the plug when you press the bulb(the glass) into the socket. I dont know how i can say this any plainer.

idwin, are you sure you're not giving me instructions as if I had a 2003 Z? You know I have a 2006? I know when the headlights are swapped, the 2003Z will have the turn signal bulbs stay on all the time, whereas my DRL bulbs stay on all the time and when i turn on the blinkers the DRL's flash really fast as though they were the blinker. i bent the wire on one side of the blinker bulb itself and that did not work. i will take pictures in the morning.

If you didnt cut off the harness from the 03 to tap into the 06 you are screwed! yes i know as i had someone who said if i could make my 04 lights fully function in their 06 i could have the lights as they were getting rid of the car. i cut off the wire harness to mine and his and swaped them. the o6 lights went into my 04 w/zero problems. Gettiing my 04 lights to work in his 06 was a ****, but everything worked. to get the turn signals to work the metal tabs had to be bent back like i stated. If you didnt cut off the harness to do the swap i dont know what to tell you other then you screwed up more ways then one, or as others would say FAIL...
