"I've heard"........that is precisely the problem!
Often times the info out there is vague (and sometimes even unreliable/incorrect).
I have found this thread helpful so far, so thanks OP!

An actual body shop told me no, which they had nothing to gain from telling me no because i wasnt getting it done, just inquiring. and a guy with Seibon hatch who had his done said no, so hence i have heard, im not going to state it as fact from 1 body shop and 1 guy, though.

I think it is an "iffy" issue when removing the glass...some shops will recommend replace some will do the swap.

i got that window from autoall and it worked out perfect. When It came time to remove the window, I could barely remove it. The 3m tape bonds to the window after a few days.

So you used nothign but the 3m tape and it worked? Ever open your windows while going 70mph?

Did you drill holes to release pressure on the glass?
Do you have aluminum straps?

In fact it's quite the opposite, the wind pushes down on the glass.

Ok so I am going 80 - 100 mph on I-75 "normal speed for me" and I open my windows. Air rushes in the windows and pulls the lexan down?????

Sure... right....

Then why dont people strap it from the inside with aluminum straps?

Either way I dont care pulls or pushes does the 3m hold or does it need more reinforcment????

I used flat black screws on mine plus the regular glass sealer. No 3m tape came with mine.

This is also not the first time that I heard people say opening the windows at high speeds causes a DROP in cabin pressure and not an increase.
I personally had the car cruisin along at 100-110 (West Virginia roads can be verrry lonely) and did not have any problems with just silicon and screws holding the lexan on. Some people warned me that my hatch may crack but so far nothing. Plus, it would be easy to notice since my hatch is painted.

I have a Mastergrade hatch with glass fitted. Initially I called an auto glass company in FL and purchased a glass from them. They came out out fitted the glass to the hatch before it was shipped to antigua. When the hatch arrived it was without seal, glass company it seems doesn't supply them. However I sourced one from Nissan (Way less than 100 bucks) and had the glass removed by my body shop and refitted with the seal in place. No problems the whole affair (minus shipping and hatch cost) was less than 350 bucks.

You will regret using lexan. Theres a reason its only used for racing vehicles.
