lol at you not doing your homework prior to buying crap.......your at the shops mercy now and they can start to put it to you........

dont know what lexan is.......

as for the shops inability to swap the glass...thats bunk........and you sound like a person that needs to keep the glass.....versus mess with lexan...

get them to remove the glass.....hopefully those that have done the swap can chime in..

LMAO was right under your thread in DIY

https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...-cf-hatch.html

He put Glass in not lexan but think I will go Lexan for the benifit of losing about 50 lbs and if it comes with all hardware you will not need the dealership mold.

100$ "rubber from dealer + Cost of having the OEM glass removed and instaled "while removing a perfectly good OEM hatch and glass combo" more than the cost of a lexan kit in my eyes.

Requires? No. For looks and sealing purposes I would highllllllly recommend it. I was told by a local officer here in NY that lexan is "illegal" because of lack of DOT approval. (take this with a grain of salt, early vipers and tons of convertibles, for example, came with factory lexan/polycarb) For this reason alone I used a moulding with a dark tinted lexan just to be as inconspicuous as possible.

If this it not a concern, or if you know this to NOT be true, moulding is unnecessary. LSAuto has you covered.

Autoall.com has lexan as well but there is NO hardware included and mine did not come with ANY 3m tape like they claim.

edit:
NO lexan can NOT be tinted like you would tint glass. (using films)
You can buy lexan that already IS tinted.

+1...

Ive heard you CANNOT swap the glass and you have to get new glass with these hatches.

You should do your homework before you buy parts, though.
