Default Splicing?

I need some help on splicing. I searched this forum and online, but no info on this site. The ones I could find only explain how to splice two separate wires from their respectives ends. I need help on connecting a wire to the parking light wire. The parking light wire doesnt have any open ends, so do I just cut it in half and splice all three wires together? Sorry im a noob, thanks.

Not sure what "no open ends" means? There are a number of splicing techniques and taps and caps that can be used.

Yea, thats exactly what I mean. Sorry to be confusing. So I have a wire that needs to be connected to something, that something is the parking wire. How do I connect the one wire to the parking wire? I know there are various ways of splicing, but they all involve splicing two wires that are open ended. I want to know how to splice an open wire, with an already set up one.

This allows one wire to pass through and to connect another wire to it.

Look into vampire clamps. Not sure if there is another official name, but that's what I have always referred to them as. Its a clamp that connects a wire to another wire by cutting through the insulating plastic and not the whole wire. I think this is what you are wanting to do, like a "T"? I'll see if I can find a link.

Found a link. It's kind of hard to tell what it does if you have not messed with one before. Look at the pic and you will see where there is a slot in the center of it. That slot is for the wire that you want to connect inline with the existing brake wire. Take the wire you want to connect and put a male spade on the end. Take the vampire clamp and clamp it onto the brake wire, once you do that, the slot for the spade will be on one end since the clamp is now folded over and not opened anymore. Now insert the spade into the slot and your wire is now "spliced" into the brake wire. And you can pull out the extra wire whenever you want to without leaving a cut up brake wire.

From your description, I'm guessing you're putting in a head unit that says to connect to the parking wire, so that you can't watch video while driving. If that's the case, then just ground the wire.

A splice kit is about $10. Many will include no strip “taps” such as these.

Thanks a lot guys. I will get one from home depot or something and get it to work. And yes, I want the wires to form a "T" once spliced.
