I know the OUTER hood is aluminum.....but did you know that the formed metal that supports it underneath is STEEL ?
I am having my 2004 hood painted (top and bottom) and the shop said that not only was the steel support to the hood separating from the hood (the glue or body sealer was failing) but there was RUST at some of the seams.
I had never waxed the UNDERSIDE of my hood....perhaps I should have.
Has anyone else noticed this problem ????

Unfortunately no. My friend that owns a body shop has already stripped it, repaired it, and repainted it.
It could be a fluke.....just my luck that I got a bad hood.
I created this thread hoping someone might notice it as well. Since this is a Georgia car (not much rust here) it seems rather unusual.
We actually checked if there was a TSB on this. There was not.
