Sorry to hear that amn. Is it just ur front bumper and fender?

I would go with Vertex body kit. Its very clean and matches the Z's lines. Im saving up for the sideskirts +rears and thinking of adding a Veilside version 1 front lip.

Maybe RSW...go to body gallery on here or 350zonline.com.

unless you buy the Sarona fender or a custom CF fender you will have to get a stock fender

there are so many front bumpers to chose from....some can get here quicker than others and there is a big price range

how much do you want to spend....more importantly..what do you liek

your bumper and fender can easily be fixed..if you are looking for an excuse to buy a kit then go ahead...but if you really just wanna fix it you can

Light weight fenders are a bad idea for the street IMO, if you had them in this accident the damage could be much more severe. Just put a stock fender back on there.

The best aftermarket parts IMHO are the urethane ones; I've seen/felt the Stillen kit in person and it's of really high quality and quite flexible. I like it.

its a matter of personal opinion. Urethane is not neccerarily the best. It's heavy, weather affects it, and it's unrepairable. Every material has it's advantages and disadvantages.

The question is too broad. It's like asking, whats the best tasting soda?

When it comes to weight, fiber glass is much heavier than urethane.

yah its heavier, thats why the old school race cars and F1 cars used Fiberglass before Honey Comb Carbon Fiber was available.
In fact Urethane just does not sell in Japan due to the weight disadvantage. The Stillen importer for japan, hardly sold anything.

My bumper on my car weights around 5 pounds. In urethane it would be at least 30pounds. With anything there are various grades of material. It's used in showers, boats, airplanes, and even production cars (ie corvette stingray)

The reason Fiberglass has a bad rep in the US is due to the cheap knockoffs. They use very cheap fiberglass and shoot it into a mold with a chopper gun. It's very cheap to make, but very poor and it becomes very uneven, it also becomes thick, heavy, and brittle. Also a lot of "good" copies (whatever that means) take an original part and make a mold off of it. The problem with that is, you cannot make an exact mold off of an existing part for manufacturing. When you make the kit there is shrinking that must be factored in. When you have a unexact mold (not made from the original plug) then you will have warpage.

Carbon fiber is similar to Fiberglass. Although a lot of carbon fiber sold here is nothing more than fiberglass with a carbon fiber layer. The weight is the same as fiberglass, unless you are referring to dry carbon fiber. Dry carbon fiber is baked in an autoclav. It's expensive but oh so light. It has no clear coat, so it requires painting. This is what modern race cars & military airplanes use.

As for Poly Urethane it's basically rubber. It's basically the same material that you coat your tables with, or what your garbage can is made of. Its injected molded, the machine is expensive, but within reach. It has a greater impact resistance than fiberglass, but pound for pound, it's heavier than fiberglass. If the ambient temperature is hot, then the Urethane piece can become deformed, and can actually warp. If it's cold the urethane can become brittle and actually crack. If you do cause a strong enough impact with urethane, you will have a permanent crease that will not go away.

A factory bumper is made of ABS. A very expensive machine that very very few aftermarket companies can afford. The costs of the machine will not warrant the amount of sales for the part. You would have to sell thousands of parts to justify the costs. When in fact aftermarket body ktis are a hit if 100 are sold.

Just some things to consider when shopping for a kit.

Also check out symetry. I've seen genuwine C west side skirts. They were not symetrical. The placement of the vent was off by 10cm.

Fitment, symetry, and build quality is what seperates body kit companies in japan. There is no body kit fits all the criteria. Like i said before each material has it's good and bad points. Just like tuning a car, when you gain in one area, you lose off in another.
Just find the right balance, and see what is important to you.

Thanks for the post swifty.........looks like I was wrong about urethane being lighter than fiberglass. I saw some posts on other forums that totally back up what you said.
