Anyone attempted to so called JDM their headlights, painting the housings black? Pics?

yep. do a search. someone baked their's and painted the chrome black.

he has done it, and will do it for a price. its a slick conversion, top notch quality from the looks of it. but its no secret it comes at a steep cost. from what he's told others he only does the conversion in the entirerty, so he wont just paint it for less money.

you can always take a shot at boiling or baking the housing to attempt and open it.

Ya right, I'm afraid to stick my headlights in an oven. I'm afraid I'd ruin them I may stick to doin' a couple Overlays instead .

yeah the oven thing scared me too. seems dangerous. but someone mentioned boiling, which seemed pretty cool. nice even heat, and right at the proper temp.

but still I wont do it to my headlight, and I wont pay 2-300$ for a new one from the dealer either. soooo, I learn to like my silver headlight just fine.

 

please dont incorrectly use the word JDM, thanks.

 

I concur, the JDM lights aren't even smoked.
