Default Need some pointers on body kit install!!

I have a front bumper, and some side skirts I bought from a local company. I am going to try and test fit these pieces myself. The problem is, their is no mounting holes. I need to figure out, (where any experienced opinions and pointers come into play) how to figure out where to drill the mounting holes once the bumper and sides are on the car. I can get pics if needed. I really don't need opinions on the body kit itself, please only post if your experienced with this, and if you have anything helpful to say. Any and all help will be greatly apreciated. THANKS!

The side skirts are easier to do on a lift. The mounting holes in the front inner wheel well and rear inner wheel well are easy. Remove your front and rear wheels, then You come in from the back and make an identifying mark and just drill. The ones that run along the bottom of the car from wheel well to wheel well are the tricky ones.

I got the whole removing and installing the parts, I'm just not sure how to go about marking the holes so I know exactly where to drill to keep everything the same as the body. I guess I'm looking for maybe some tricks on how body shop guys do this

This may sound retarded, but would 3m double sided tape work? I know people use it for spoilers (big to small), so would it not work for sideskirts? It would save drilling holes too..

EDIT: Hexxus has 2,086 posts and 04fairladyz has 1,043. SO COOL, ITS DOUBLE

lulz.

i would'nt trust double sided tape to hold on a bumper and sideskirts. It works on spoilers, because thy are very small and light. Which is the same reason all the large wings are bolted on

If I were you i'd just pay someone because I see more holes in your pieces than were intended or you arriving to your destination then oh sh** wheres my side skirt. Plus if there s fitment issues you wont know how to fix them and then a shop will have to do it anyway but now you have holes drilled already which creates more work for them which equals more $

First, I don't pay anyone to do my work. I do it myself. Just the way I am. I wouldnt just drill hole not knowing if it fits correctly. I know how to cut, sand, and all that. That's not what I'm asking, I need a professionals opinion on how to mark the cutting points accurately. THANKS!

The easiest way may be to just pull off the factory pieces, put them side by side with the ones you intend to install, and mark 'em out. I haven't come across a kit yet that wasn't pre-drilled, but that's where I'd start.

I don't know how else we can help? If it's off the car, at least you can take some reference points ( edges that would be the same on both the factory and aftermarket pieces ) that you could at least measure from to where the holes should be.
