Default Painted Front Reflectors

lazy afternoon decided to paint my reflectors gloss black...

I'm going to admit, I did a shitty job, I didnt let them dry enough and then tried to push them in through the fenderwell, which ended up messing up the paint...
Decided to put another coat on and wait a day.... Removed the bumper and installed them that way... let me know what you think

Stick to buying the real smoked reflectors and call it a day. Cool for trying though...

Thanks I guess... I'm not gonna buy 60 dollar pieces of plastic but I do think I should have used vinyl instead

A+ for not listening to ppl who don't get DIY. Some ppl buy stuff instead of doing it, just because I guess its, um, cool? Just make sure next time to do it right man, You don't want to look like a rice civic with a $50 mufler tip... Buy some vinyl, I wouldn't have used paint imho.

Thanks for the input guys. If you read my original post you would know that I knew it was a shitty job, I just wanted to try something out myself. I'm gonna see how the paint holds up, and if its a no go I might try a different approach

I'd try a different approach right now. I mean you know it looks cheap. IFgure out a way to get the finish a little nicer and I think it would turn out a lot better.

Also, whats with the horrible offsets? You buy wheels from an S2K or something?

i did mine black as well and they kickass. my motivation though, was that i couldn't find any black/smoked reflectors for 06-08. otherwise, i would've bought some. I was very happy with my results but i think i did a much better job at it than you lol. i can send pics if u want, or just look at my sig/albums.

I'm having a body shop smoke mine. Yours look okay (I think you could've taken a little more time and precision). I like the look with the black wheels though ;]

I think it would look cool with a good paint job.

i think you downgraded your car from stock

stock 06+ wheels look better than whatever those things you have on them now
unpainted reflectores look better than that little DIY project of yours

just my 02cents

I painted mine too. Some people don't want "smoked" nonsense. I ordered smoked fronts once and as it turned out, I can't read, they were for 03-05 Zs, not 06+, so they didn't fit and at the time nobody made anything otherwise.

If done right, painted looks just fine. I am always amazed at the amount of "part snobs" here.

Now, if he painted his interior.....................................

EDIT - I painted mine too;
