Default need help on headlight ASAP

guys im not an expert at this area so help me out..
here's the situation, im planning to replace my 2003 headlight (factory HID) since there are leaks.. i was thinking of using regular oem replacement like from ebay for time being.. the issue is i dont get what it means by "not compatible with factory HID" does it mean the housing wont fit? the wiring? or something else..

i was thinking of buying this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...Q5fAccessories

thanks in advance

it's going to be a wiring issue. The HID's have a ballast to them, and don't wire in the same way that the regular lights would. And why are you downgrading?

wiring issue. and the factory hids have a ballast connected to them, and don't wire in the same way that the regular lights would. meaning you have to buy an HID kit that comes with the ballast and stuff. what part of san diego are you from im planning on getting some new headlights as well and im liking those on ebay so let me know how they turn out when you get them.

I down graded for the, "All black look." It's simple... Just switch out the ebay harness for your oem harness.

I'm doing the same thing, just trying to figure out which conversion kit to buy... I need one with. I got an 04 touring with factory HID, bought black Ebay lights which I love the look of, now need to convert to HID so it fits my connectors.. Any good links to kits?

im downgrading them because there are leaks and they always condensate whenever i wash my car.. i have to sell the car within 2 weeks and im nt so familiar with silicone molding and dont want to take a risk...

no, the ones on ebay that say " not compatible w factory HID" mean they are meant for non-HID cars and would plug into base model cars only.

There are no ebay HID headlights if that is what you have stock and are trying to replace.

if youre selling the car, polish them up and be done w it.

To Romanteni.. you wont end up w the same thing going this route. HID conversions are new HID bulbs, ballasts and plugs for cars w out HID from the factory. If you already have HID from factory, and bought non HID headlights... that was probably a mistake.

The cheap price looks nice, but they just arent the same qual.

If you are patient on ebay, you can find 06-up HIDS for sale.

I had to find one at a time... and ea cost me only 260 dollars approx. Add thelightwerkz.net customizing for about 6-700, and im still in for less than a new set of the lights from the dealership.

Like I said, you just switch out the harness along with getting a hid conversion kit and you'll be good.

Yeah I got that, this guy has same situation though. So if there's a conversion kit to make HID lights to hook up to none HID car, I'm sure there's a conversion kit to actually hook up to HID connectors.

Why? You just said you were getting the headlights that came with hids. Anyway... No, since the factory hid bulbs are d2r size and ebay headlights have h7 bulbs.

Btw, I'd get a quote on the installation. It may cost around 200 bucks.
