I just ordered some black chrome Z emblems for the side of my car so I need to get the old ones off. I took the emblems off the back with a blow dryer and floss but the side emblems have the indent and dont want to come off. Any help would be great, I really dont want to mess up my paint. Also whats the best way to get the sticky stuff from under the emblems off? I used Goo Gone on the rear and it took the clear coat off so I had to get that fixed and I dont want to go through that again. Thanks
This might also help since your searching powers fail you.
Jack up car and put on jack stands.
Remove front wheels.
Remove inner fender liners.
Press out the Z emblem from behind using the butt end of a screw driver. They are held on by two sided tape and have two posts that stick through the body. Press on these posts.

i just pried them off with my fingers after heating them up with a heat gun for about 30 seconds. they're only held on by the 2-sided tape, which is easily peeled off from the body too once the actual emblem is off.
I just did the exact same thing with my metallic black Z. You are going to love the look! Anyway, I used some really strong fishing line and broke up the tape on the top, sides and bottom of the emblem. At that point you can just pull it the rest of the way off. Might want to use some type of garden gloves, that line can wear on your hands after a while.
Post up some pics when you get them all on.

Maybe it depends on the year as well man. I don't know what the first guy is really talking about but on mine it was a little different. They are held on with a glue and there's also 2 prongs that sit on the back of the emblem right across the middle. The prongs are slightly slanted so i'm not sure what way you need to pull up or down. But mine is an 03'

I cant post a pic because I just ordered them yesterday. The best I can do is the links I ordered them from http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/350z03j/31-1142 and http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/350z03j/31-1139
dental floss worked great on mine, just place it behind the emblem and move back and forth going downward, you just have to rember there are two posts to go around.
