Default Windshield cracked, need info for replacment

Hi, I have a 2008 350 Coupe Z with 10,000 miles on it. Brought it to the dealership to get a simple oil change. When I returned to get my car there was a two foot crack along the windshield. I guess there was a small nick (which I did not see before) and when they washed it with cold water and it cracked. Kind of pissed off but my insurance should cover it. The dealership tried to get me to use them to fix it (they contract the job out) but I don't feel like giving them the business unless they pay for it.

Anyway, If I get it replaced at a different place will I still get the Nissan glass? How has your replaced windshield worked out? I Don't want to get a generic windshield which is wavy. I'm in Scottsdale, AZ.

Thanks for the help and input,

Mason

Make sure they use a top quality product. My insurance co. had a poor quality windshield installed and there was a lot of distortion. I complained and they replaced it with a better product that is fine.

Default Yes

Just had my windshield replaced a couple weeks ago. Darn rock cracked it badly. I called my insurance and they said they would cover it completely. Basically they ask you which company you want to use. I called my local Nissan dealer to ask who they used (Guardian Glass) and told my insurance company. The next business day I got a call from Guardian to schedule an apt. I asked for factory glass and they said no problem. They fixed it in the parking lot at work. (it's a little painful to watch, though). They did a good job, but I thought the car was a little louder on the road (and we don't need any more road noise than we already have!!!). I called Guardian and the next day someone came by to look, found an area that was not sealed. It was fixed and it's as good as new!!! Good luck.

You should tell the dealership not to wash your car next time as well.

But I've heard good things about safelite as well.
