Default Nismo V1 Wing

Hey guys, do you know how much it would cost to re clear a cf wing? Just the top part of the wing, not the base. A general estimate would be great, thanks.

You should just give a local bodyshop a call since they will give you an actual estimate.

I'm guessing less than $200 depending on how much prepping would be needed.

Give DTM a call as a feeler and decide from there:

Found this in another forum:

ok there is a common misconcetption here. Carbon fiber hoods are not "clear coated". they are just layers upon layers of clear epoxy resin that is built up on top of the carbon fiber.

LINKY

check that link out on how a carbon fiber part is made. notice the part, about halfway down, about the final stages. at no part is there clear coat used in the process. its just layers of clear resin that get you that shine. once the hood starts to get hazy, you could try sanding it down and re-applying resin but that is just a pain in the ***. or you could paint it. or you could go ahead and "re-clear" it with paint, but it wont do anything. just trying to inform you about the composition of a carbon fiber hood.

Since I don't want to paint my cf, would applying resin like what was said above be a good alternative to re-clearing?
