Default DTM Autobody: 2nd chances...

The kit thats on my car now came from M1 Autoport/DTM Autobody in Feb of last year during all the madness.

The product i received fit great and the paint finish was great too.. the carbon fiber center they laid worked out great too....BUT it took forever, and the process was indeed a major pain.... way more than Ive had to deal with elsewhere....BUT there are a million threads about that. But Im ready to buy a new kit, and Im going with them again.....

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT SECOND CHANCES

I just spoke w Robert from DTM and have been assured these issues are fixed and they are ready to roll. I got a good feleing from Robert and he was very appreciative that II was down to order w them again.

I also mentioned Id be down to up thier rep here if my order went well. Why not, its only fair they get some good press w all the bad.

This of course hinges on what goes down this time.

Im going to be 100 percent open on this post as this thread is here to help you decide where to put YOUR money, not just mine.

(Last time wasnt even all that bad... but for some, I hear it was a nightmare. )

The premise I have in mind is that things will go well and this will be a helpful thread for tohers including DTM.

I should mention that Im a Loss Mit Underwriter for JP Morgan Chase and live in Scottsdale AZ... I in no way work for DTM etc.... hell, I havent even been to Cali in over 10 years.

Default order form..

just got the email with the new order forms...

got them very quickly after my phone call, and also got a pm back immediately from Robert.

Good stuff.

These may seem like lame posts, but Im documenting this stuff so it shows what can be expected from an order w them.

Ill update as soon as I fill them out and make my payment.

To thier defense, I wont be making payment until this Friday the 28th.

I have been told 5-7 days of lead time to add the carbon fiber properly, and that this hinges on wether VIS has the parts in stock or not.

( They do, Ive been all over it).

Robert just allowed me to make a half down deposit now to get the process started and so they can go pick up the kit from the vendor

( surely in confidence they wont be out the cash by someone backing out etc.. makes sense..no prob) .

Fast pm replies, sending forms and starting the process today.

Great, excited.. this will be fun. And i dont look fwd to cutting up my fenders for the widebody, but no looking back now I guess.

Keep us updated brofessor... i want a new front and Shine is overpriced.

FWIW, i dealt with both M1 and Auto Infantry and nothing but great experiences from both. But also, this was before this most recent dump they took on some ppl here.

DTM has been doing very well since they got rid of the bad apples. Marwin is the man at DTM. When I was having trouble with Peter and his minions not replacing ****ed up body kit parts, I called and talked to Marwin and made a deal that he'd send me other parts I needed in place of the body panels that never got sent to me. Low and behold, not even 5 days later, I had everything I wanted. When I get the chance, I would not hesitate to order again from them.

^^+1 for doing this!!

This is exactly the kind of thread I wanted to start.... but then got cold feet from another vendor....I am very skeptical of any body kit place anymore so I will follow this thread closely and base some of my decision on what happens here. I just received a quote back from DTM and it was very quick and the gentleman was very polite (I was impressed with the speed and general way he wrote the PM).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was just M1 that was screwing people over. DTM just got caught in the crossfire because they're sister companies.

From what I know, DTM has always had a solid reputation. They have always taken care of me everytime I had work done there. And +1 at David being the man. Actually, everyone there is pretty cool.

DTM actually has a shop, they have more at stake then all of these M1/AI spin offs that resurface. I would expect their service level to be better.

Im glad this is a helpful thread.

No updates yet, but soon Im sure.

They are doing carbon fiber in 1x1 weave over the whole center nose piece of a veilside V3 wide replica...that way it will match up w my authentic V2 hood.

Played out or not, I always wanted this kit since I first saw it in 05.

Finished result in the next 45 days will be a flat black 3m wrap on the whole car as well and 20x 9.5 / 20x 12 gloss blacks sporting 325 wide rear rubber... should be a fun change for my ride.

anyways enuff about that.. not what the thread is about. Sorry.

SO hopefully I will have some status on the kit next week.
I agree about the M1 stuff... but again, the last kit I bought from M1 still came on DTM order forms etc.. so the good rep building is still a good idea for us and for them.
So far so good.
