Is mirror tint really considered that ricer or tacky?

I've always liked it on silver cars. Saw a Z today with it and I think it would look good on mine. My car is in the paint booth right now getting sprayed again with a silver base coat and a purple/blue pearl, so I'm thinking about doing it when it gets out.
Ultimately, it's up to me whether or not I like it, but what do you guys think mirror tint? Yes, I know it's illegal.

That's exactly what I'm thinking... I think there is different levels. i'm not so sure what I saw was "mirror tint". You could actually see through it pretty well. Maybe it's that metallic tint? Either way, I thought it looked awesome on a Chrome Silver Z. My paint is going to be pretty crazy. INGS front, JP Vizage sides and molded rear, flush DPEs followed by a healthy drop and boost.
In most cases I would say absolutely not, but with your paint I actually agree that it would work. From the pics I've seen of your color shifting paint, it would flow nicely,IMO.

This may sound ricey as hell, but if I did the windows in mirror tint, I would want my tails to match. Thats definitely a legality problem, though. IMO, the red just clashes with the mirror tint.

^no
In my opinion, 5% tint looks ghetto on anything but black Zs. Not to mention, I want to be able to see and not draw a crapload of attention from the law. I need to see the color my car is going to be before I decide, but I think the first step is a trip to the really good tint/car wrap shop down the street from me. I want to be sure of what type it is.
Or maybe I could just leave my name and # on a business card and stick it under the guys wiper.
