Question Is mirror tint really considered that ricer or tacky?

I've always liked it on silver cars. Saw a Z today with it and I think it would look good on mine. My car is in the paint booth right now getting sprayed again with a silver base coat and a purple/blue pearl, so I'm thinking about doing it when it gets out. Ultimately, it's up to me whether or not I like it, but what do you guys think mirror tint? Yes, I know it's illegal.

My car:

I'm not really a fan of it, but then again I don't think I've ever seen it executed well.

Yeah, I used to see it it on riced out hondas, but never on a Z. I think it would look sick with my color and theme...

I've never seen it with a well executed car. I think the car would have to have some ridiculous paint/body-kit to make it work.

That's exactly what I'm thinking... I think there is different levels. i'm not so sure what I saw was "mirror tint". You could actually see through it pretty well. Maybe it's that metallic tint? Either way, I thought it looked awesome on a Chrome Silver Z. My paint is going to be pretty crazy. INGS front, JP Vizage sides and molded rear, flush DPEs followed by a healthy drop and boost.

Please don't do it. Maybe a 5% all around if you don't mind having illegal tint.

Hell no...

You should do "titanium tint" though. It's a smoky graphite with a touch of metallic in it.

In most cases I would say absolutely not, but with your paint I actually agree that it would work. From the pics I've seen of your color shifting paint, it would flow nicely,IMO.

Depending on how it's executed, it could look good.

This may sound ricey as hell, but if I did the windows in mirror tint, I would want my tails to match. Thats definitely a legality problem, though. IMO, the red just clashes with the mirror tint.

^no

In my opinion, 5% tint looks ghetto on anything but black Zs. Not to mention, I want to be able to see and not draw a crapload of attention from the law. I need to see the color my car is going to be before I decide, but I think the first step is a trip to the really good tint/car wrap shop down the street from me. I want to be sure of what type it is.

Or maybe I could just leave my name and # on a business card and stick it under the guys wiper.

I wonder what they would charge to do one window and let me decide?
