Decided to permanently shave the antenna and rear wiper. What did you do? Roof antenna? I don't listen to the radio so it's not a big deal to me, but I'm curios...

You could do that BMW shark fin style antenna. Thats what ima do when I get my wiper and fender emblems shaved. Other than that I dont think anything will really fit in with the lines of the car.

That's what I'm thinking,. but I want to know who has done it and what work was required to relocate it. Was it ran through the headliner? Any drilling and is the stock cable long enough?? How was the reception?

The ant. wasn't too bad. I didn't want a hole in the roof so I justed used an old ant. kit I had laying around for my MR2. (sold) and stuck it in the existing hole in the rear hatch glass. This is the hole for the wiper fluid. I ran the cable with the electrics already going into the hatch and down to the back driver side interior - ant. Amp. The only "hard" (not really) was desoldering the old ant. cable and soldering this longer line in.

they make antenna's that you can put on your back glass. Very discrete.

What size is that hole? I was thinking a VW roof antenna in the hatch glass...

I don't remember , it's wasn't huge - the only thing you will really want to check also if is the base strikes the roofline when the hatch is all the way open - mine barely clears.
