It's fairly complicated I think? If you go online and Google "350Z shift **** replacement", a bunch of sites will take you to detailed directions. As I said, there is a lot more to do than just unscrew it!?? You have to pull up the whole shift plate and remove the leather shift cover just to get to the **** assembly. I want to eventually replace mine, but I think I will let the pros do it!

I had to hold the shifter itself with some vice grips and tried twisting the **** off. I really think mine had some loctite on it. My oem **** ended up getting ripped to shreds in order for it to come off.

^yea exactly... I guess they need to disconnect the shifter from the shift linkage, take apart the interior, change the air filter (very important step), Drain both the diff and tranny, put in on a bench vise... then turn counterclockwise until it comes off. Just because they dont have the testicular fortitude to turn the damn **** there HAS to be a special way to do it...

I had an '06 and now have an '08 and they both came off with very little effort while following the instructions above^^^^ I recently tried to help a friend with an '05 take his off and it was a complete fail.... we ended up tearing the **** up and never got it off... it just kept turning.... he ended up taking it to nissan and paid $40 to have it taken off. Also after he got it off i sold him my ARC **** and it seems that the '05 and before shifters sit noticably higher than my '08???
