Is this what what will happens if you roll your fenders?? worst thing ive done
So i rolled my fenders today, after thinking about it for the past two months. i took it to a place in san jose, ca called vex motorsports. I asked the guy if my paint would chip, and he said "maybe just a little but usually no, and we use heat guns so that it doesnt chip" So i said ok, and i knew by the look on there faces after they were done that they messed up. But i took a look at it for myself, and this is what i saw on both rear fenders all the way across (look at picture). I got pissed and manager came out, and he looked like he didnt know what to say either. I told them im not paying for it, in fact i didnt even care about stupid $80. I would of paid $200 if i was guaranteed a good job that id be happy with. Anyways they said i dont have to pay, and called it even. I was about to flip. Even? what idiots. Under contract law i could have them pay to paint my car, since there was misrepresentation and i didnt sign anything saying there not liable. But thats wayyy to much work. What should i do? i tried some touch up paint but it didnt work well over straight metal.
+1 borrowed an eastwood fender roller and used my heat gun...took my time of first side and knocked the other out.
Must have been total amateurs there.
What idiots!
this is my work and what it should have looked like....holy hell I would have been LIVID..
They are supposed to wait for the paint to get hot (to the touch) and you do it in steps...WOW man...f*k that shop..they used you as a guinea pig bro..

wait what does this thread have to do with fender rolling? thats a shop literally drilling a body kit into a car.
you cant do much except fix it yourself.. If it were me...I would sand down the chips with some fine grit sand paper and hit it with primer and be done with it... just make sure you DONT get it on the outside..
Take it to a body shop to get the roll done properly. Give said shop the bill for it.
Maybe Zcar Garage in Fremont does this kind of work.

i know i should have taken it to zcar garage, there's one in san jose. But how can i get it done properly when its already been done? the only reason i even did this was to go from 275/35 tires to 285/30. Maybe i should go to 295/30 to make it worth it atleast.
Your option now is unfortunately simple - strip the quarter, reprime and paint fully. Your not going to "fix" what has been done
It begs asking - if you "would have paid $200 to be guaranteed a job you would be happy with" why didn't you? Why did you think $80, without any guarantee as to the quality of the work, would get you something you would be happy with?

Came out great.
That sucks, man. This just happend to me, as well. (I attribute it to the fact that I have yet to find a body shop in Pittsburgh that knows anything other than fixing wrecked Camrys. The custom/tuner scene is pretty lacking here.) I think it's cuz the guy did it with his dolley, instead of the tool, and I don't think he heated it either. Long story short, I had to have him sand it down and respray it. Mine wasn't a full 90 degree bend either. Lesson learned-it's best to do this kinda stuff yourself.
