so i finaly saw the underside of the car..lol.
the fab wiork was really nice.. Aaron at IMR is really good.
But my exhaust layout looks like a tuba undearneath lol.
so I have a 3 inch down pipe and shorty headers.
I also had an HKS knock off exhaust.
In between them is madness.
the downpipe comes down and Ys off just after the transmission to an electronic cut out and tip( which I will be having turned DOWN)... the wastegate recirulated dump pipe is smaller and meets the 3" right at the reverse Y about midway down the cars underside.. thsi reverse Y allows the split to the dual 2.5 in pips that go out to each can.
I had the old tips yanked off and the ends will need a little grinding and cleaning up before its all said in done.. but its still pretty frikin awesome IMHO.
I can change the sound buy going with different exhaust muffle sections with no middle sections needed.
Im told the exhaust cut out is kinda so so, and sounds leaky even when closed.. I now see that there is AMPLE room for the Dougs electric cut out, which is not a butterfly but an actualy rotating door that closes like a knife edge over the pipe. Theyre not cheap tho, but at least i can sneak under and bolt it on myself and not have to rewire or reweld due to space constraints etc.

and ..Yes this is still going to be cleaned up and polished again.. remember who you are dealing w here lol. in fact, since this car is not a race car, and will live in my garage ad now be a sunny weather weekend car.. I actually plan to clean the underside of this car up fully.
sos pad and comet, some car wash soap and some trim black paint... already ahve a TON of dress up bolts laying around as well as duplicolor purple anodized match spray.. fk it.
I want the oil change people to sh#t themselves when i roll over the pit lol. I do this as Im nearly out of things i can do on this car, and its a childhood dream. Might as well.

dude, i was going to draw it out in a simple cartoon w ghey stuff on it lol. ..but even I cant figure out whats happening under there lol.
-Its a 3" single exhaust back to a reverse Y pipe and dual cans out the back.
-But that 3" single also has an electronic cut out halfway back..
-and the wastegate is piped past the cut out so it will always exit out the cans in the back of the car.. pretty cool.
Basically assume that my exhaust is for neighbors and police and to keep me from dying from Q16 exhaust fumes at stop lights lol, but the car mainly just runs a 3" single w no muffler dumping out right behind the seats lol.

btw, i mentioned to the shop that im coming to pick the car up friday, rain or shine.
At this point , the only work left was stuff i could do myself.
It appears the car will be mostly done by then anyways.
Either way, saga over friday.
Here's the new wheels mounted up. I like them.

talk about close.
