Default budget racing seat?

My budget is around $500, that includes the base and shipping. No preference on bucket or reclining, as I plan to get the harness bar and harnesses either way. I'm 5'6 with a 34"-36" waist. I want to take the car to HPDE and AutoX only, so i guess FIA cert is not a must but needs to be safe and won't crush me during an accident (NO eBay seat). Prefer something subtle, nothing flashy, and provide good thigh support. Went to a HPDE event one time and my knee was constantly banging the side of the HVAC......

Is there a seat that would be in this budget? Or am I dreaming?

I have Sparco Sprints (the older version). They were the cheapest seats I could find ($295 each).
Now I wish I hadn't been such a cheapskate!!!!!!!

another suggestion:

if you find a used sparco race bucket with a slight tear in the cloth.. you can purchase seat cover replacements from sparco which make the seat look new again..

just another option.. so dont deter your self away from a slightly used seat if the price is right..

Chebosto: I've been looking at the classified everyday but so far no luck.

Zazz: not necessarily, bucket seat will be fine, knowing that my choices will be limited even more if I only want reclinable seat.

Z1: I'll pm you, thx!

Sparco chrono roads or R100 with rails/brackets should be around 5bills iirc. If not you can def find a Corbeau in your price range, as Z1 pointed out.

Seen them many times, very nice, great quality, my friend ran then for a year in his daily driven GTR with no signs of wear. Only prob is no FIA cert if you need it.

Get the wide if you daily, just for track the narrow is great. I'm 6'1 170 and am getting wides for my car.

My buyer never completed payment. I'd be happy to refund his deposit if you want the seat: https://my350z.com/forum/interior/50...50z-and-g.html

I will sell this set-up for $500 PLUS SHIPPING!

http://www.kirkeyracing.com

Note: I strongly recommend using a seat back brace connected to the harness bar/roll bar

Thanks for all your input guys. I think I've found my solution:

http://www.shopatron.com/products/pr...7.0.0.0?pp=12&

It's listed for $439, and with everything, i think the total is about a little bit higher than the $500 but less than $600.

If not, then I think i'll probably go with the Corbeau, either Forza or FX1 (or FX1 Pro?).

What do you guys think of OMP?

These guys sell seats pretty cheaply, too. Some are $350 for a pair, most are like $200/seat though.

Remember, you will need a seat, and side mounts, and sliders (optional), and a base to make this work...and back brace depending on the seat.

And if you have seat air bags, you will need the magic plug to resolve that issue..

no corbeau fx1's if you're thinking about tracking in them. i had a pair for awhile and they flexed so much. didn't dare use them on the track and got rid of them shortly after.

i'd go with a sparco sprint like someone mentioned.

I'm in the hunt myself. Any suggestions on something similar to EVO 9 Recaro's?
