Default is it me or our body kits are not too impressive

compared to the g35's and rx8's etc....out of the many body kits i have come across only a few are good and the rest are horrible. a few are good?....I have yet to see a body kit that makes our car look amazing. obviously looks are in the eye of the beholder but i am simply dissapointed with the results created for our car. it is UNACCEPTABLE! lol.

just fustrated because of the visual potential of our car has yet to be reached. sigh...aaaaahhhhhhhh yahhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhuhh ohhhhhhhhhh chop choppppppppppppp pow bam booooooooom waasssahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh kaaaaaaaaaayaaaaaaaaaah!~ *poof*

i'd say that the g35 and the 350z already are beautiful cars, and really no bodykit can make that much of a crazy difference. Now a honda civic? Sure, that would make sense.

I feel you on that one ShimZ. I am not too impressed with a lot of body kits out there too. Just wait! I'm sure something eventually will come out that will blow all of our socks off!!

Still have not seen a kit that looks better than the original lines.

NISMO kit looks really nice in person, even though many people have it.

yes, i believe the nismo kit looks nice because you can tell it's still a Z...some of those kits I question...what's the objective when most neophytes cannot tell it's a Z.

lotus i simply agree.

the Z looks good as it is...i just know someone can improve on the appearance rather then decieve the beauty of our fairlady. It's as if a beautiful girl is "caking" on her makeup O_O...

you gotta be kidding...there are a TON of kits out there...and many make the car look nice...different...but nice.....there are kits that keep the lines..kits that change the lines and some kits that are outrageous...there are all shapes and sizes....the selection for the g35 is minimal..i think we are privelaged....go mix and matxh if you are unhappy....better yet...id like to here what you think would make the car look better?

(if that sounded hostile i didnt intend it)

It's all subjective, personally I think the NISMO is the only one that doesn't destroy the lines of the car

I agree, almost all of the Z bodykits make the car look worse, not better. The Nismo (sans that stupid looking wing), Ings, and Veilside ver. 1 are the only kits that look decent IMO, the rest are garbage.

Default rushing rushing never works

its because all 3rd party suppliers know that we (guneau pigs) are ready to be the first to have their pathetic kits on our cars and we will compromise to be the "first". There are a lot of fiberglass workers and graphic developers without jobs right now and thus their managers tell them to "just go make/design something"

Having been a bmw owner for years, very few vendors have dared to produce body kits for bmw's because they know that it hurts "brand loyalty".

So I recommend to wait, instead of buying kits that look like an animals nose or ***.

that's the truth

I bought the Car for it's original look. That's what makes it the "350Z".

I totally disagree with your statment about BMW body kits. I'll give you some word on my opinions. There is no market for body kit's for BMW's because there really is no demand in comparison to the Japanese market. It also has a lot to do with cultural & different govt. regulations that make the differences.

In Japan body kits and modifying your car to circuit type performance levels for the street are common, and cars with wheels and lowering are very common place. It is the body kits on the cars that show others the owner is very serious about performance and not just keeping a factory looking car. The body kits are made of fiberglass because weight is an issue. Venting areas are common to help provide cooling. Lastly style is also used as a particular look from a tuner, if you have have a particular kit, color or design, then it could show your devotion to a particular shop, crew, prefecture and so on.

In germany TUV is the governing body that controls what can and cannot go on cars. The levels are extreme. Which is why you will never find large 3 piece wheels being sold there, and all the body kits will be heavy and made of Urethane or ABS. Also becuase of the governing body is so stringent the costs are high just to meet the requirements, therefore driving up price on the parts.

In the US, the show scene is strong. Therefore a lot of people want body kits for looks and not performance. Some people do not aggree with the show scene or want to go against the popular scene so they'll do the opposite and add on lip spoilers and so on. Then there are those that are the extreme purists and see any type of styling a waste of time and money.

In the end it seems that everyone is following each other's styling. Japanese have for the longest time taken styling cues from German and Italian sports cars. For example Veilside Version 3 side skirts...ever take a good look at the Porsche 911 Turbo side skirts? The US crowd follows the Japan trends, and now the current Japan trend is about following the US trends. Europe has been been following both scenes, Germany has been limited to what can be done, considering their limitations on Govt Regulations. However a lot of the new designs from Germany are taking some styling cues from Japanese as well...

In the end go with what you like and what makes you happy, no matter where it's from, just make sure the build quality is up to par.

As far as the subject of this thread goes, please give us some examples of other car body kits that you are referring too. The body kit market for the Z is one of the largest out there.

I don't have a Z YET... but I think the stock form of the Z looks better than most of the bodykits for it that are out right now. But that's just my opinion!

I really could not disagree more with the original post......but thats becuase we are talking about something highly subjective - hwo your car looks to you.

What I love in a kit is something that accentuates the stock lines, makes it a bit sleeker yet more muscular in appearance, while at the same time not spoiling the cars good looks (the car looking good in stock form is also a relative thing, depends on the beholder). But what I think looks good and the next guy does are often 2 different things.

I only like the car 1. Stock, or 2. if you MUST have a body kit get the nismo, theya re the only kits that keep the true lines of the car.

I would like to keep it stock or maybe add a lip, thats ALL
