Default Need help installing Nismo sides from Shine

I knew these were gonna be a PITA being replica but how are you guys installing them? I have to use the OEM mounting holes for the Nismo sides but I don't know what bolt, screw, plastic clip to use. I don't think a plastic push-in clip will ever hold it and I can't use a bolt because I can't get to the back side of the bolt because it goes into the body. Are you guys using a heavy threaded screw to catch the hole in the body? I'm going to Fastenal today to see what they have. Thanks guys!

mine are pretty much crap but they are just held on by the black plastic push things (the stock ones) on the front and rear fender wells, ive scraped them and hit them and everything and they wont come out thus far... i tried all the holes in the middle and couldnt get anything to work so i just gave up on them....

I did the install about 2 yrs ago. I believe I used some sort of these plastic lock pins.
And I also used double-sided tape and self tap screws to hold them down. I wish I could take some pics of the work, but the car is in storage.
.

As you can see, they aligned up pretty good.

I wish I could use the plastic push-in type but these sides are so stiff that I can barely get them to flex. I could use self tapping screws but I don't have anywhere to put them because the OEM holes are in the way.

If the fitment is that bad I'd trash them or get them replaced...

Push clips like Kuhan said will work for the center just fine!

Default Solution!!

I finally got something to work. I went to Fastenal and got some Jack Nuts:
Need help installing Nismo sides from Shine-jack-nuts.jpg

Jack Nuts have a washer type head on them and they are threaded at the bottom. When you thread a bolt into the Jack Nut it swells and pulls itself tight against whatever your bolting to (i.e. the 350Z body)

I drilled out the factory mounting holes for the side skirt to fit the Jack Nut. It was close to 3/8" I believe. After popping them into place, I aligned the Nismo skirt up and used 5/16" Allen or Hex button head screws to use with the Jack Nuts:

Once I got the screws started, I hit them with a drill and all of them squeezed together and the Nismo skirt is firmly in place. There is no way it could ever fall off

Nice! Good thinking! Good reference for others.

Also, paint those allen bolts to car color for perfection.

They work great. I got mine at Fastenal. I'm sure Lowe's or Home Depot would have some. I'm not for sure the exact size on the Jack Nuts but the Allen screws were 5/16". Drill out the factory holes just big enough to pop in the Jack nut.
