Default Nismo Short Shifter Confirmation

Hi Guys,

I purchased this Nismo Short Shifter from another member and never installed it. Long story short (no pun intended) I decided to sell it but the potential buyer backed out because he said the part looks like it missing the white collar. The person I bought it from insists that you use your stock collar. Can someone please confirm that this is true. Please have a look at the pics.

Thanks

I don't think you can get the collar over the adjustable part of the shifter, as it's got a larger cross-section than the ball. Original owner must have broken the collar. Great shifter, though - I've had mine in for quite a while and love it.

thanks for the input guys - based on the responses it looks like the original owner sold me a defective part. I'll follow up with him.

key word "don't think"

i'm the original owner of shifter i bought this used myself exactly the way i got it. i install this myself using my OEM "white collar" you can just grease it and slightly hammer it and it comes right off.

can a vendor or a fellow member whose a mechanic verify this with OP

i cant find the post any more but this is the original picture

Can a mod please look at the original FS thread. The seller is now stating that he sold it "as is" and that I didn't do "my research". No where in the ad did he mention that the collar was broken and that you could use the OEM one.

Whether or not the stock collar can be used is unimportant, if that was not disclosed before the sale. The shifter was incomplete, and that is what matters.

If an exhaust system was advertised for sale, but wasn't delivered with the mid-pipe, isn't that the same situation?

How can you be the original owner if you bought it used?

I bought mine new, and it came complete, with the white collar and everything. Didn't reuse anything.

This shifter is designed to be an easy swap. take the old out, drop this in, done. no mixing parts. You definitely have an incomplete short shifter.

The difference between me and you is that I won't sell a fellow Z member a defective/incomplete part to make a buck. Stop making excuses and refund me the money.

Keep digging that hole for yourself if you must, but you're not right, and if you win this one it's only because the mods have something better to do.

Can a mod please comment on this and help with a fair resolution. I feel mkn didn't give a full explanation in his FS thread. If he had mentioned that this was missing a part I never would've purchased it. I don't feel right selling it to another member and shouldn't be out a 100 bucks.

Just out of curiosity... where is the for sale thread at? I searched for it, but didn't find it. Seems kinda strange that someone would delete it after they sell something... just sayin...

Looks like mkn had it deleted. I couldn't find it either.
