Default 06 shifter console oddity

I bought a new lower center console from LKQ via eBay that was listed as 06-09. It came and looked fine, when I went to put it in the area where the hazard switch on mine is missing. Where does the hazard go in models like this?

It fits but my metallic part is too small and there is nowhere to put the hazard if I use it.

I am willing to buy the correct metallic part if I can figure what to get and it has a place for the hazard switch.

The auction says it is for 06-09.

This is another auction for the same wrong part that says 06-08:

I asked both if they have the insert that fits item.

That's really weird. I've never seen that before. Could it be different on a convertible model? I'm not sure if the convertible dash is any different from the hardtop.

No clue. Anyone have an 06+ convertible that can look at theirs for me?

I just googled it. It seems like you got the piece from an automatic tranny Z. Their hazard light button is on the silver piece

Marvelous!

I checked before I bought and just double checked. It does not say anything about auto & says it fits all 06 Zs:

LKQ Online is listing a factory OEM heater/AC control removed from a 2006 Nissan 350z. This item is in good used condition and also covered by our warranty.

Will fit:

NISSAN 350Z 2006-2006
NISSAN 350Z 2008-2008
NISSAN 350Z 2009-2009 (Conv)
NISSAN 350Z 2007-2007 from 1/07

Some companies don't always do the best jobs at advertising their items, and even give false info sometimes.

LKQ is pretty good. I am sure they will swap it for the right one.

Thanks

Yup, that is it. It makes it hard to tell when they remove the silver part. I did not notice until I went to remove it and the mounting points were different.
