Exactly. For instance, it is a perfect way to decide if you like a color on your wheel. Then you can go powdercoat them without the fear of not liking the result and losing a lot of money.

Whole car, no. We have had members PD their entire car and it became a nightmare to remove. Overspray inbetween panels, areas that will not come off, thin spots that are impossible to remove. Wheels, door handles, repair spots, temp use, all good.

Once again, just like all other things, it needs to be done properly. As for the overspray in between panels, there is a product out to remove that (it reliquifies the PD and can be washed out/off. I agree though that full Z's shouldn't be dipped if they are in good condition. (It is a useful product when a bodykit is just installed and does not match paint, or if panels are not the same color due to an accident. That would be my exception to dipping a Z)

I'm all about wrap, only small things for PD, not that it's a bad product. PD surface grabs onto everything, nothing clings to wrap, wipes off clean. Car washes and maintenance is easier than washing original paint. PD is pretty ghettorific, and like you said, great for cars that are half complete.

I'm really not a "cheap" person. But as shown in my pics, I think PD did well with those few parts of my car (wheels, handles, emblems, chin/grill.) I personally wouldn't advise dipping a WHOLE car, that's a bit cheap in my opinion.

A solid WELL DONE PD job on small things will last a long time. Wheels obviously not as long (1-2 years) cause you have to take curb rash and what not into account. But for 15 bucks, and a job WELL DONE that doesn't look cheap, I think it's a great mod. Completely changed the look of my z.

Noob, according to my calculations I've been a member here longer than you…but apparently post count is all that matters eh…do you think, that its within the realm of possibility your wheels came out poorly due to user error?

I guess we will see how this stuff actually works, when i dip spray my car this week…I have faith it will turn out well, as i also own and operate a paint and body shop, that specifically specializes in hydrographics and stuff…if this stuff comes out crap, ill be the first person to hi5 you and say you told me so…but I'm too stubborn to not try…plus I see the potential for a ton of money to made by consumers who lease vehicles and want to mod the crap out of the cars, but don't want to spend a few thousands dollar to change the color…

possibly who knows, and i was referring to being a noob on post status... but you may just be a lurker on the site. i wish ya the best of luck with your project, i have heard in the past that when people do their entire car that if it is thin in an area that it is really hard to get off.

Did my badges last year , and now started to chip away here and there .

My question is can I just spray over it a few times to give it a clean fresh finish and fill in the spots or a big NO?

Big NO! Ok seriously, why not just peel it off and redo it? Not like it's difficult.

"Can't take wheels off, fuggit I'll just spray'em on the car and get the brakes at the same time" lol and people wonder why PD gets a bad rep.

lol I literally did say that. But I made sure to tape it off pretty good with some trash bags as a shield, and none got on the brakes...thankfully.

thats what im planning to do yeah hopefully they aren't to much of a hassle. Theres a good write up on this site on lock nuts but the socket route is cheaper. Need to order lug nuts first though.

Yea because it takes some attention away from the fugly taillights.

What's wrong with your lugs? Lock nuts and don't have the key?
