i drove around with my hood and hood spacers on. The end of the hood toward the front windshield shakes, flexes up and down at speed. Hope it doesn't stress the clear coat or carbon fiber over time.

I don't want to make a new thread so I'll ask here.
when you install sparco hood pins, do you install em so that when you close the hood and pins, you have to push down on the hood?
don't think im making much sense..
basically, does the hood have to be kept closed by hood pins, not the latch?

you can have both if you want kris, If you use the latch, teh pins will be extra insurance that it doesnt come flying at you .

Hood isn't there for collision purposes only to cover your engine bay. Your front absorber and reinforcement are for collision purposes

I can’t imagine the good has much crash impact value (maybe a little??)

if I remember correctly an OEM hood is around 21lbs?? And gutted its around 14lbs …

you will see the hood flex & move around a bit at speeds over 100mph - 120mph … was somewhat worried about it when I did the Kansas event.

not horrible for free weight reduction over the front of the car…

I've been procrastinating getting mine installed, I don't like the look of pins but I don't need my hood coming up on me either.
