I have the NRG's and they were a 10min install... even with the small trim work I did.
You can barely see it.. but I cut about a 2mm half circle off the Battery and Brake Master cylinder cover with a dremel. You can actually see a half circle on the plastic... so you cut that out and BAM!!!! it look's like it was meant to be there.

I have the Evo-R ones and they work great, and no cutting needed to install. I chose them because they are 2-stage instead of single stage like the rest, so I can keep the hood half open for car shows.

I would not go with tein. They are super stiff. I ended up selling mine because I could not get them to loosen up at all. I can't say anything else about the others. I know that Evo-R makes theirs so that you do not have to cut the plastic piece in order to get to the screw location. Other than that, that is all I can tell you.

I put the EVO-R CF on a month ago and I needed to trim the plastic, not a big deal. Mine also look different than what they have pictured on the website (zstore). There's a gold ring at the top of the piston where it connects to the hood and a chrome ring at the bottom. I Don't like the gold with my silver car. Not sure if they sent the wrong model or what. The function of the dampers is great. I'll probably black out the gold ring or something.

I finally had time to install the EVO-R hood dampers. The install was simple and took me about 20 minutes or so.
I really like these since no trimming was required, and they have 2-stage opening, which is pretty cool.
Here are some pictures.
Unpacked
Installed
No trimming needed
stage 1 (for car show etc.)
stage 2 (all the way up)
