Beat me to the punch.

Basically, anything in the car that is silver "reptile-skin" plastic (the verticle center console) I wan't replaced with brushed aluminum looking peices.

Youll notice the Z has a little hump at the end of the center console back towards the footwell.....I didn't select it in the pic because it is the black leather-simulated vinyl that covers msot of the interior and I would like to keep that intact.

The very front is soft. We can only do this to hard surfaces, so if it comes attached it would have to be removed and re-attached later. If it cannot be detached we would mask it off. I imagine the panels are easy to remove once the main center console and shifter are removed. Yup it would be pretty awesome alright. As of now, the labor involved in doing this is about the same as it is for the CF we do. So the price would not be much different. I just don't have a firm price set yet. We will be doing a dash shortly and will know better then. I will get a set of those pieces from Jeff@performance next week.

Again this is not a brushed aluminum LOOKING endeavor. It is REAL aluminum. It is not the sanitized idiot proof version the automakers include. This, being real metal has to be cared for like any other real exposed metal. If I can find a clear coat to protect it without changing the look af bare metal I will try it. But right now it needs to be polished once in a while.

Rich (or Joe) you would be my hero if you can come through with this! Honestly...this interior would no longer look "cheap" as some see it. It would look like the freakin' concept car. Those two medial peices are critical for that "carved block of aluminum pushing out from the firewall" look that the aforementioned concept car had.

curious, but if the armrest bin is 'skinned' in aluminum, wouldn't you be frying your arm during the Summer time? Some say that the shift **** gets hot enough to burn their hand, so figure a nice big metal plate in direct sun would give you a nasty tan on your arm.

Not the armrest. I'm only talking about the center console...when your inyour car, look at the dash. Any sruface that is black vinyl, stays...anythign that is the med-silver "reptile skin" plastic, changes to aluminum. The only problem it WILL have is glare...

Oh, was asking in general. Saw the red CF dash and figure the aluminum one would follow. Plus the test console shown on the first page lead me to that idea as well.

Glare WILL BE a problem. I considering replacing my aluminum color strut bar plate because in summer at some times it blocks my rear view completely... Imagine having big shiny aluminum all around front...

Default Glare should be minimal

The only area capable of sending a reflection to the windshield is the very top flat section. The angle and slope of the dash as it moves down to the shifter would not reflect badly at all. It might catch the sun's reflection and dazzle the eyes, but if it is a brushed and dulled finish it should be tolerable. Our shiny CF dashes are buffed till they look dripping wet but there have been no complaints about glare or unwanted reflections. I think the sloping angles help alot.
