Default True full aluminum dash is coming soon

Yup we've been playing. We are working on an aluminum dash, or at least our capability to produce it. Below is a picture of a storage lid we have done. One half is left untouched and the other side has a clear coat on it. Obviously the clear suks. But since it is real aluminum it can be marred and needs a certain amount of care.
It is 95% real metal we apply to the dash itself. After curing it must be worked. Sanded, sanded, and sanded some more and finally just scuffed for a brush look.

Default more aluminum

You can see on the pic before and on this one where down by the hinge we have not exposed the aluminum. It is very hard and time consuming to bring up, but it is worth it.

That's just a piece of some vehicle I had laying around. To experiment on. One of many. I am preparing set for the Z though soon. This is just to show you what we are up to

SO...are these replacement pieces?

Also, is there a way to have the new look go all that way back on the center console (towards engine) instead of just stoppinig at the "face joint?"

They are replacement parts. They must be swapped out the same way we do it for our other kits for the Z. But I don't know what you mean by 'go all the way back towards the engine. The pic shows our current dash. We will be doing it in aluminum instead.

In the pic you can see exactly what I mean. Your parts are replacement, which is awesome, but they only replace the facade of the center console. The sides of it are still the gray splastic of the stock interior. These may be hard/expensive to replace, but perhaps you could fabricate thin, stick-on peices for the sides just to complete the look. If you did this I would be on board 100%.

This will be full coverage of the part. The photo above is a rather terrible one because of the lighting. This is not a stick on aluminum kit by any means. Maybe the pic here will show the coverage better.

I believe Brad4rdHay is actually referring to the medial walls of the driver and passenger footwells. In your dash pic above, look just to the left of the "warning" label. You'll notice that area is still stock, grey plastic. Brad4rdHay is suggesting that you make a thin attachment piece to cover that entire area in the leg/footwell. It would therefore seem as if the entire console was made out of one big chunk of aluminum.

On a side note, how much of a weight difference do you expect over stock parts?

We could do that. Like I did for BBBT? Or does it go further?
The weight would be negligible. It is a very thin layer of aluminum. About credit card thickness.

It still goes further; refer to the white section of the following pic.

Thanks for the chop. Are those panels easy to remove? We could easily do them. You guys are right, it would look ten times better with those panels done too. Even in our CF
