maaco can have good painters but they work at your budget. even a good painter wont paint your car nice for 1000 bucks.

i paid 5k for my paint job. my friend painted his Z for 2k. differences are VERY noticable. for a decent paint job price, go talk to any insurance adjuster and see what's the going rate to repaint a car around your area. The insurance companies pay full price to bring your car back to OEM.

I don't even know why maaco is still in business. Who actually goes there and finds their service satisfactory??

you get what you pay for, a complete OEM quality paint job will cost 4k at the vary least. Paint and primer (good quality) + all jams proper masking and base and clear coat. Mats are going to run 1-2k easily.

^^^
What he said... Macco usually uses single stage for cheap paint jobs... Even then, consider body work and materials(body filler, spot putty, masking tape and paper, etc...)

i painted my integra light green for 700 bucks here in SD. Find a local paint shop that charge cheap labor. have to search around.

why don u use yelps for to read customer reviews. go to their paint shop and see their jobs. check out everything. dont pay anything until u are satisfied with the job!!!

it last for a long time until i sold it and bought a Z

if you don't know people to hook you up, the saying really stands "you get what you pay for". Just to give you an idea, I took my Z to a collision shop well known for they're excellent paint matching to get my chargespeed kit painted. It all cost me $1600 when I rolled out the shop and body kits are the easiest to paint since you can take them off the car. So like people above said, expect to pay 3-6 g's for a good paint job.

To go from red to black won't be cheap if you want it to look good. Also, are you going to have the engine bay and door jams done? If so you have to factor in the cost of pulling the engine.

I've had many cars painted...if hu know someone you trust with prep work anyone can paint a car the prep work is what is costly. if you know what your doing and are willing to take the tome to watch the guy paint the car n let him know he's getting a tip it shouldn't matter where you go. My advise is to get a quote from maaco and go to another body shop n ask them to match the price or come close...you shouldn't have trouble getting a good paint job for 1000

switching color in general isn't cheap but the most mula spent is switching to a lighter color cause it takes more paint and time....especially the time it takes to wait in between coats.

it really doesnt' matter what everyone else has paid
basically, the more you pay, the better the quality
there's absolutely no way around this

if you pay less, you'll have a **** looking paint job
if you pay more, (hoping you don't get ripped off), it will look amazing/factory

up to you and your budget
