Default How To Remove the Seatbelt Light?

I am wondering how one would go about doing this? I would think I am not the only one interested in this.

whosdaddy, i hope your going with a racing harness setup, cause when i wrecked my z the seatbelt broke my darn collar bone and it looks all jacked up now. the only way that i can think of removing the seatbelt light would be to find the wire using a fsm and either ground it or take apart the fasterner and permanetly secure the switch for the light. if you dont have a fsm, reply back and i'll try and find it for you.

That's way better than being DEAD isn't it? I've seen too many accidents. I owe my wife's life to seatbelt. I never leave the driveway without my seatbelt on.

Consider this... parachute's harness can shake you pretty well when parachute opens... but nobody refuses to use parachute

Thanks for the safety tips. I wrecked a BMW 750 IL going 160mph when I was 16 (many years ago). Trust me I do wear my seatbelt. However, I'm wondering if I remove my current seatbelt if I will have to live with the light being on?

On my Lexus SC400 I took appart the dash and simply removed the light. It was a no brainer. I am just not sure if there is an easy way to take out the light. It looks like the back panel may just unscrew but I was hopeing someone had already done this.

Any help would be appreciated and please no more safety tips

Well there is a wire coming to seatbelt clip... I'm sure if you take it apart you'll be able to shut the light down somehow... Better check with service CD. If it's the only function of that wire, you probably just can it and expiriment with it. The same way some guy killed auto-level mike for audio system about a year ago here on forum.

I doubt the removing light itself going to be easy task... but you can try and tell us, so we'll have one more useless fact to remember

Under the drivers seat is a connector. Just Unplug it.

If your serious, please be more specific. Is it necessary from me to remove the seat to get to this? Will this effect the side air bags?

I'm going to install a 6 point harness for track use, so I am curious as to disabeling the seat belt light.

Advise welcomed.

Could you please be a little more specific? Type of tape? Over what?

Go out to your car, get on the ground, look under the front of the seat...There is no missing it. White connector.

As far as effecting the side airbags..I don't know...I don't have them.

Zrated, is it really that simple?

No need for grounding, fancy diodes, resisters, or adding any other whatshamacallit's that I don't understand?

What about inserting a "fat guy extender". That would turn it off. Or go to pick-n-pull, buy a Nissan belt, and cut the belt off and plug it in. If I installed a 5 point i'd look into putting the light on a switch and mt it along side my seat heaters.
