Default Key Blank

OK, so I went to the local dealer today to get a spare key for my 04.5 350Z. They want $94 plus $88 to program it. There has to be a lesser way to do this! Please help!

Do you still have the valet key? If you do you can do the flip key mod and use the removable chip from your valet key.

If you are looking for a stock replacement I think you may have to go through the dealer.

I bought a blank transponder key from ebay for like $15 and had it cut for maybe $3. My local Nissan dealership quoted me $60 to program the key. Try calling a few Nissan service departments for the best price.

Keep in mind that reprogramming has to be done on all your keys at the same time. They all have to get the new code so they will be the same.

^Thanks for that info. I never actually went to have it programmed. I just wanted to have a spare door key just in case I locked my keys in the car.

you can do the key blank trick that will allow you to open the drivers door. if you want a spare key to start the car, thats when you have to have one that is programmable.
