i do agree. thats my plan. should be simple to do. thats why i want thicker plexi so it doesnt need as many screws to hold it on straight.

That's " close" to what I paid
..like I said ( not sure why ppl dont take my advice here lol)... call FRED directly at VIS..tell him I sent you. And ask for a similar price beat/match to octane, cut out the middle man .

I ordered the hatch thru a third party and three weeks later still had nothing shipped out..cancelled my order.

My order thru Fred was s snap. He can verify stock as well.
Paid Friday

Was delivered by lunch Monday.

I'm simply not naming my price out of professional courtesy..

Yeah I got my VIS AMS hood from Octane and Octane was basically a go-between. My hood took about 6 weeks because they only make 2 or 3 at a time and then they're quickly bought. I was satisfied dealing with Octane (and I'm not sure VIS would undercut a distributer if I asked them to), but going your route will probably be fine too.

Brian -- can you confirm the weight? OP said 40lbs, but that seems way high.

Yea I can do that
.
It is higher than 40 if anything. Very sturdy and solid feel. Its a fglass inner. All these hoods etc are unless they're over a grand..then those are usually all cf.

a few pics.

and there is no room for thicker plexiplass btw.. it actually scrtched up into the plastic surrounding the quarterwindow.. so its snug to say the least. fit was great around trunk, but where it meets the roof , the "sides" ( vs where the glass would ahve been) are a bit off, nothing major tho.

Default Wing...

Did you ever end up installing the wing? I'm extremely interested in seeing it and how difficult it was?

Your the best for posting all these pics. Ive been thinking about fabricating the hatch in this style with metal and fiberglass and hopefully oem fitment. I was wondering if you remove the 3rd brake light completely or does it go into the back somewhere? Here is my doner.

Thanks. I was hoping to get it so I can remove the back window. Like 4 bolts holding it place with some sort of gasket around it. Im mostly brainstorming still. Sometimes I just think I have free time so I buy **** like a junk yard hatch to mess with. If it goes to **** at least I got an extra rear glass out of it.
