Default Tinted Windshield?

35% or 50% on the front? I have 15% everywhere else. I am pretty set on 35 but would like pics if you have them. Thanks

You doing the 6" strip across the top? Anything wider then 6" is illegal no matter what the tint in almost every state if it's not manufacturer installed (with proof on hand). And if it's just for the strip, I would go with 35%.

Well, then I would suggest 50% so it's not overly noticable, unless this isn't your DD

it is. I am just 19 so it is my only car at the moment. My friend has 5% everything 35% windshield on his RX8 and I got in it about an hour ago and I could see how it just fine

I'm inclined to side with korner on this one. But, if that's what you have your mind set on, go ahead man

I would say tint it ~80%. Goal for me personally is to not make it so obvious it's tinted, since it's illegal. I'm not here to lecture it being legal or not, but making it obvious for cops to pull you over is just making it inconvenient for you if you do get pulled over. If you can find a film light enough, tint film is tint film and a little bit will help block out heat buildup.

to all saying it is going to be too hard to see out of... have you ever seen 35% on a windshield? and I have 15% everywhere else and wish I would have gone 5% so I am thinking if I do 50% on the front I will have wished for 35..

I've had 5% on cars before.... so I know VERY well, that with anything close to it, it's going to be hard to see out of (especially in the dark). 15% on the sides isn't bad (wouldn't recommend it for the back as that is what I have on my car and I know it's hard to see), but putting ANY on the windshield, no matter how cool you think it looks, is pretty stupid as you're going to be cutting it off on the first traffic stop and on top of that, the cop will still ticket you for it. But again, if that's what your mind is set on, I would go with a higher % so it's not obvious and that it doesn't interfere with your night driving

15% Sides and Back, 45% on the Windshield (glad I didn't go darker)

I had 40%-45% (can't remember exactly) on the front windshield on my previous car and it wasn't all that dark driving at night to see everything and it was dark enough during the day with the sun out too.

Thanks To be honest, if you were doing the whole windshield, I'd say 50% considering you've got 15% all the rest of the way around, but for a strip, I'd say 35%.

I've been stopped twice for my windows, 1 warning & 1 ticket.

35 looks the best imo but you can def tell it is tinted and I really do not want to get pulled over for it. 15 is illegal though which is what i have on sides and rear and I have not had any trouble with cops yet... I want to get it done tomorrow but still unsure of how dark. thanks though for everyone sharing their opinions

Highly illegal in most cities, just don't go too dark and this is a very effective mod especially if your daily commute is directly into the sun's direction.
