Default New custom Steering Wheel - Leather wrap + Carbon Fiber

Put this in the 370z forum on accident: re posting here

So after my second OEM steering wheel's leather starting shredding and tearing I decided to get my old core wrapped by a shop. It took about three weeks to turn around and the cost was around $230.

Installing this week, will add pics.

Close up of weave? Looks odd for some reason.

The weave pattern is not perfect, but honestly for the cost i'm not complaining. A used replacement cost's $150ish on ebay or the market place.

Looks good close up on one piece, just that i saw that the weave pattern was pointed/wrapped in different directions on all 3 pieces.

That would annoy the **** out of me, but im OCD so i wouldnt sweat it if i was you unless it bothers you.

Quality looks good.
The weave variation would bother me.
I would not have used a twill Cf weave on a piece this narrow.
A standard block weave would have been better.

looks like a hydrogrpahic print and not real CF. Is that the case?

otherwise that is a sweet price for a custom finish.

I assume it is print. I doubt they used real CF at the price i paid.

Since I've worked with CF,I have a hunch on what happened to the poor pattern match.First,CF material can be expensive.Your shop that did the work probably bought material in a long piece thinking this would work
wrapping your wheel. They did'nt account for the pattern match. When you
are matching the twill and want it to look right, you are gonna have waste.
Extra cost...He just used what he had.
Looks pretty bad!

Skeptics :P I'm happy with it once again for the cost, most shops are charging $350 - $450 for a simular job.
