Default AVT Z1 Dead pedal install help

I'm wondering how to install the dead pedal. I removed the oem overlay but the AVT dead pedal holes do not match up to the oem foot rest. Any suggestions?

And the clutch and brake pedals are slip ons? How would I go about removing them...they seem on there pretty tight.

Okay, got the clutch and brake covers off. Do I have to drill them in order to install the AVT pedals??? Seems like there is not a lot of space down there to stick a drill in. Someone help!

Most pedal cover including the AVT need holes drilled. You should have hardware and instructions supplied with the kit.Bolts with allen heads are usually provided.
You are correct,it is a tight space.A offset/angle connector for your drill may be neccesary. That is what I used. You may have to start with a smaller pilot hole and work up to the needed diameter hole...maybe a 3/16".
It sure helps to have the proper tools and new drill bits on hand before starting installation.

I ordered mine through Z1 Motorsports from one of the vendors and it did not come with any instructions. I just checked the box again, they are not there.

I went to Lowe's an hour ago and purchased a compact Impact Driver and assorted drill bits (never had the need to purchase a drill before).

Would you know where I could get the instructions? I'm only asking because I still don't know how the dead pedal fits on the oem mount and I have no idea what to do with the gas pedal.

Thanks

We have looked into this and it appears that AVT left the instructions out of some of the boxes. We have scanned a copy of their instructions and we will send you pictures of the pedals installed in our 350Z shortly.

I apologize for the inconvenience,
-Rob

Do a search online..."how to install pedal covers".
Most are similar to what you have.Probably the reason there were no
instructions is the installation is pretty straightforward:
remove the old covers, place the new covers on the pedals, mark the holes
that are countersunk for the bolts on the pedal surface, drill holes a bit larger than the bolts, put in the bolts, attach nuts, tighten with a allen wrench.
I'd remove your mats or put down a cloth to catch metal shavings from the drilling.
Did you get METAL drill bits?
Don't know why you would need a impact drill .A standard 3/8-1/2" drill would work.As I said,a angled attachment for the drill would really make things easier.
Ever thought about taking the car to a garage nearby to do the install?
May save on all the tools you are buying?
But,hey...tools are the best thing to have!
Good luck
PM me if I can help you out.

Thank you to Z1 Motorsports for the quick reply and providing the instructions.

JCity, I realized after I bought the impact drill that I should have just bought a stand one.....so I went back to Lowe's and exchanged it. I got titanium drill bits which it said work well for metal. Yeah I probably need to have a drill around for god knows what down the line.

Again, thank you guys for the help. Hopefully I'll be able to knock this out tomorrow. I'll provide before/after pics

I bought my Autovation Technology pedals back in 2004 or 2005. As I recall, no instructions were included nor needed. The installation is so easy and straight forward that I would have thought anyone could install them in a matter of minutes.
