gauging interest on headlight reflector replacement.
Im just getting a quick show of interest for clear and smoked parking light reflector strips.
they are the amber strips in the headlight; they would be a replacement peice identical to stock but different color.
as of now these would just be a peice for sale; not installed; that would be your job to heat and open the housing. I need a rough estimate of interest to know what the cost would be and then if its worth it.
my wild ballpark guess is 50-75 a pair; but that is just a guess. assume its right, would you want it; and would you want clear or smoked?
if you are not interested please hit no if you could; just to get an idea of that too.

i've been wanting to do this for a while now, i just haven't been able to get an extra pair of headlights to open up.
i would say like 50-60 bux would be a good price. the install is actually pretty easy, done a ton of them on s2000's...

I clicked no but only because i'm a coward and i am very afraid of opening up the light and ruining it. I do like the look of the clear strip and i think the smoked would look good too. Am i helping you or confusing you?
Yeeees. Definitely Interested in Clear Strip.
Can you make them light up with white LED? That would be my ideal setup!
BTW, the clear LED sidemarker that I purchased from you is still sitting in my living room waiting to be installed...just waiting till I get 6000K HID bulb after winter break...

well as I have read; the bulb in there is a 194/168 size; so the white LED light I made will replace in there perfectly(I gotta verify that size, I could be mistaken) as for more invasive LED setups beyond replacing the existing bulb; maybe in the future.
yes, Im not sure if Ill be doing that; not for right now anyway. problem with that is I have to have access to the headlight, which means either a swap system where the headlight you get back might not be in the same condition as the one you sent. or your without your headlight for a few days.
neither is a particularly good arrangment.

it has to be. I think he had them done by clear corners. www.clearcorners.com
its a wee bit pricey; but good work if you can afford it.

opening the headlight and putting the clear/smoke corners is not what i have a problem with. I would do it instantly because it is not hard to do and i have done it multiple times already on my old car. It's sealing the headlight that i don't like, having to see the silicone all around the headlight just looks "ghetto" to me...
I would be very interested but the work would need to be perfect. I am getting new headlights under warranty for cracking. I would hate to see silcone, smudges or have any condensation inside the housing.
I think painting the housing black, then adding a clear reflector strip where the amber one currently is located would look best. I am not currently insterested in the led part of this however.

i am SERIOUSLY interested in this. The only thing keeping me from opening my headlights and yanking out the amber strip is that I think it looks too bare with no strip in at all. clear all the way. =)
Hey Ares, finally got your hands on some used ones to make a mold
I think both Clear and Smoke would be great. My car is white, so I'll be going with the clear. Anything but amber!
